What is Cancon?
Cancon is Australia’s Largest and longest running tabletop games convention. With Miniature wargames tournaments, Card games, Board games and Role-play events. There are also trade stands, participation games, a board games library and Dragon painting room.
Entry to the convention itself is FREE, but if you wish to partake in some of the many events there may be a fee. Learn more about CanCon here. If you wish to play in our Magic events you only need to pay the entry fee for the event you want to play in.
We will be running the Magic portion of Cancon in the PARKES Room; this is located between Budawang and Coorong pavilions.
Enjoy a weekend of Magic the Gathering at CanCon 2025, including both casual and organised play! Featuring the annual Australian 7 Point Highlander National Championship and ANZ MTG Cycle 12 Qualifiers.

Commander Zone Weekend Pass

Entry: $100 All 3 Days of Cancon
Each Player will receive
- 6 Game Tokens (convert for 20 Prize Tickets each when you play a game of Commander)
This pass includes:
We will have a dedicated space for Commander Play. This ticket will give you access to the space for whole weekend.
Dozens of tables for casual play! Use Game Tokens to play Commander and earn Prize Tickets. (Tokens not needed if you don’t want prizes.)
Australian 7Point Highlander National Championships
- Start Time: 10am Saturday 24th January
- Top8 played on Sunday
- Entry Fee: $60
- Format: Australian 7Point Highlander, Swiss rounds cut Top 8
- Prizes:
1st Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale (Italian Legends)
2nd Gaea's Cradle
3rd/4th 400 Prize Tickets
5th-8th 200 Prize Tickets
9th-16th 100 Prize Tickets
Winner is crowned National Champion and name engraved on our trophy!
The Swiss rounds will be played on the Saturday 24th with the Top8 Competing on the Sunday 25th.

Game Tokens $15
With your entry you will receive some game tokens. You can purchase more of these at the venue. These tickets can be used at game tables to play for Prize Tickets. When players sit at a table, each player provides a game token. When the game ends or the achievements have been met, the table can call for a Judge who will award the table with Prize Tickets.
Prize Tickets
Prize Tickets will be awarded to players throughout the weekend by Judges. These Prize Tickets can be redeemed at the Prize Wall for great prizes, like Booster packs, accessories and other cool items.
