About The Series

The ANZ Magic Super Series is a competitive Magic: The Gathering program for players in Australia and New Zealand. The series is divided into three cycles each year. WPN Stores in these regions can host Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQs), where players compete to qualify for that cycle's Regional Championship (RC). Success at the RC could earn you a place in the Pro Tour or even the World Championships!

What Are Cycles?

Cycles are distinct phases of the ANZ Magic Super Series, each culminating in a Regional Championship. Each Cycle will have a specific format (Standard, Pioneer, Modern) which defines the format of the Regional Championship.

How to Participate?

Players can compete in Regional Championship Qualifiers, City Qualifiers, and Last Chance Qualifiers during a cycle to win a place in the Regional Championship.

Event Types
Regional Championship Qualifiers (RCQ)

WPN stores across the region host RCQs, offering qualification places to the top-performing players at each event. Stores receive a kit with special promo cards for participants and winners, sponsored prize support, and have the flexibility to set their own entry fee, include additional prize support, and the event date. Players can compete in multiple RCQs, with qualifications passing down if they qualify more than once.

City Qualifiers

Each cycle, a special City Qualifier will be held in each major city across the region. Similar to RCQs, these events happen only once per cycle and offer 8 qualification places for the Regional Championship. They may also include extra promo cards or special prizes.

Regional Championships

The ANZ Super Series three-day weekend events are large gatherings held at major venues where the Regional Championships take place. All players who qualified can compete in the RC for a share of $15,000 USD in prize money and a chance to qualify for the Pro Tour or even the World Championships. The weekend also features a variety of side events, including competitive and casual formats, plus the Sunday $5k event.

Last Chance Qualifiers

Players can still qualify for the Regional Championships by competing in Last Chance Qualifiers on the Friday of any ANZ Super Series three-day weekend. These 16-player single-elimination events offer winners a spot in the Regional Championships. You can choose to pay for a single entry or buy a day pass to play as many events as needed until you qualify.

Destination Events

We may host special events in regional cities throughout the year. These events will include Top 8 qualifiers for the Regional Championships, Commander activations, and plenty of side events. Stay tuned for updates on events coming to your city!

Side Events

Each Super Series Weekend and Destination Event will feature plenty of exciting events open to the public. Check the weekend schedule for the cycle to see what’s on and plan your day.

Rules Enforcement Level

Store Qualifiers will be run at Competitive Rules Enforcement Level. This means that players will be required to register a deck list for the event.
